A few weeks ago I told you about a way to stop robo callers (https://realtytechbytes.com/stop-robo-callers-in-their-tracks) that was provided by my carrier, AT&T.
It worked pretty well for what it did but today I want to tell you about an app that will actually help you fight back against the robocallers.
It’s called RoboKiller. It does the standard call blocking according to a list of known phone scams, allows you to create a block list on your own and also to whitelist favorite numbers.
But, the real advantage is it’s ability to engage the spam caller with a “bot” that will answer the spam call and engage the caller to waste their time.
All of this happens behind the scenes as RoboKiller does not allow spam calls to ring your phone! Instead, it answers the spam calls with a prerecorded series of messages that makes the spammer think that they have reached a live person!
This is simply brilliant. The calls are recorded so that you can listen to them later.
I have long thought about screaming at the callers, sounding a fog horn and more, but the brilliance of this app is that it hits the spammer in their most precious resource and that is their time!
You can hear sample calls with bots wasting actual scammer calls here: https://www.robokiller.com/blog/answer-bot-weekly/
Set up is easy, download the app, open it up and follow the very simple directions. Once it’s installed and set up you can choose from over 40 different bots to have played randomly or you can select your favorite for all calls.
Sorry Android users, this is only for iPhones!
You can get a free trial here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/robokiller/id1022831885
After a week it turns into a monthly subscription for $2.99 a month or you get a yearly subscription for $24.99 annually.
With the political season heating up we are bound to see an increase in spam calls. This is the perfect time to kill some spam calls and have fun doing it!
