I don’t know about you, but I have been receiving a ton of robo-calls lately. They come form my area code as well as random area codes all over the country. It seems like I am getting 4 or 5 of them a day…so much so, that if I don’t have your number in my phone’s contacts, you are likely to get a “Sorry, I can’t talk right now” text message from me.
That’s actually a pretty good strategy for dealing with them because if it truly is a robo-caller, the text message will bounce back. That bounce back confirms that it was a robo-caller. Then I can take the time to manually block that number! Take that robo callers…you can never call me on that number again.
Which is part of the problem…these guys rotate through vast blocks of numbers. And besides, I don’t really have the time to manually block them all.
(If the text that I sent doesn’t bounce I can the number back to see who was calling me)
So, I did some research and found that my cell phone carrier has a FREE app that I can download to my phone that will automatically block these types of calls! Yaaay! AT&T to the rescue! It’s called AT&T Call Protect and it is available on the App Store and the Google Play Store.

Since I don’t have Sprint or Verizon, I don’t know if they have similar solutions, but I did run across another app called Nomorobo. This is a subscription based service for about $1.99 a month after a 14 day free trial. You can learn about it here: http://www.nomorobo.com
Verizon has a page on their site that offers info on how to block robo calls for their subscribers at: https://www.verizon.com/support/residential/homephone/calling-features/stop-unwanted-calls
Sprint has similar information available at: https://www.sprint.com/en/support/solutions/services/block-restrict-or-allow-voice-calls-using-my-sprint.html
Sp what are you waiting for? Get one of these apps and put a stop to those annoying robo calls! You can thank me later!
