The world’s most popular social networking can be a great place to stay up with your friends, meet new friends and even find new clients for your business.
But, that same popularity also means that it is an attractive and fertile hunting ground for scammers, spammers and other people who want to take advantage of your inherit trust
Over the past few weeks I have heard tales of woe from my clients about seemingly innocent looking posts from others (on the client’s timelines) that when clicked turned out to be malicious in nature.
This got me to thinking that some one had to have a solution, and it turns that there are some tools (free) that you can use to help you stay safe on Facebook.
Antivirus stalwarts Norton and Bitdefender each have Facebook apps that you can install at the click of button. Each of them runs around the clock and in the background and can scan your Facebook account and warn you of any threats.
Unlike antivirus for your PC, where you are not supposed to run two antivirus products at the same time, you can run both of these without any conflicts.
Here is the link to get Norton Safe Web For facebook: https://apps.facebook.com/nortonsafeweb/
Here is the link for Bitdefender Safego: https://www.facebook.com/bitdefender.safego
Be sure to be logged in to Facebook before you visit the links above, or you’ll just have to login before you can proceed. There is nothing to download, as both of these are Facebook apps that install on your Facebook account. No matter what computer you may use to access Facebook, you’ll be protected by these apps.
Give them a whirl and let me know what you think!
