Thanksgiving is this Thursday in the US.
Traditionally this holiday marked the seasonal slow down of real estate sales. The number of new listings dropped because most sellers wanted to enjoy the holidays without the aggravation of staging, showings and generally living in a fish bowl during this time of year.
However, a recent blog post by Keeping Current Matters has shed some light on what they claim may be the hottest winter real estate market ever.

They back this claim with a chart showing data analyzed by the ShowingTime Showing Index. Their conclusion was this: The latest Showing Index from ShowingTime, which tracks the average number of monthly showings on available homes, indicates buyer activity was slightly lower than at the same time last year but much higher than any of the three previous years.

This leads me to believe that rather than planning on our usual slower pace this winter, the enterprising agent who decides to work at a high level these next few months will be well regarded for their efforts!
