As I write this post (here in the US) we are embarked on the three-day holiday known as Memorial Day. This is normally celebrated on the last Monday of May and was originally observed so that we could take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices of the brave men (and women) who put on the various uniforms of our military and paid the ultimate price.
Sadly, it has devolved into a 3-day orgy of booze, beaches and parties as it has become the kickoff to the summer season.
Because of the holiday, I will forgo the usual technology related post in favor of asking you to take a few minutes this weekend to remember the people who paid for your freedoms with their (in many cases…young) lives.
