Over the last few weeks I showed you how to create profiles on Realtor.com and Trulia. This week I finish up with info on creating a zillow profile.
As an industry we love to “hate” zillow. But, we can’t deny that zillow gets a lot of eyeballs from consumers.
Did you know that you don’y have to spend any money in order to take advantage of the sheer numbers of visitors that come to zillow every day?
You may already have a profile on zillow, and if so, take a few minutes to go there and make sure that is up to date with your latest contact info.
If you don’t have a zillow profile, follow the steps below to create one. It won’t take long and it’s absolutely free!
- Go to Zillow.com and click on the “Login” link at the top right of the page. This will take you to a page where you can sign up for a Zillow account.
- Fill out the registration form: The registration form will ask for your personal information, including your name, email address, and phone number. You will also need to create a password for your account. Be sure to click the box next to “I am a landlord or industry professional”
- Choose the type of account you want to create: When you’re filling out the registration form, you’ll be asked to choose the type of account you want to create. If you’re a real estate agent, make sure to select the “Real Estate Agent/Broker“ option.
- Fill in your name, zip code and cell phone data. Then click “Continue”. You will arrive at “Edit Profile Information page.
- Upload a photo: You’ll need to upload a photo of yourself to appear on your Zillow profile. This should be a professional headshot that shows your face clearly. You can also add additional photos and a video if you wish.
- Provide your real estate license information: You’ll need to provide your real estate license information, including your license number, state, and expiration date. This is important because Zillow verifies the license of every agent who signs up for a free agent profile.
- Choose your specialties: You are allowed to choose four.
- Provide your social media contact information: Make sure to provide these so that potential clients can contact you. You can also link to your website.
- Finally, upload your bio VIDEO from Youtube.
- Submit your profile for review: After you’ve filled out all the necessary information, submit your profile for review. Zillow will review your profile to ensure that it meets their guidelines before making it live on their website.
Once your profile is live, you can start using Zillow’s tools to connect with potential clients and grow your real estate business. Zillow also offers training and resources for real estate agents, so make sure to take advantage of those as well.
Should you expect to get a ton of leads from zillow? Of course not. But if you don’t do this, you are invisible to the hordes of consumers that visit zillow every day. Who know when and if someone will find you on zillow. It makes senses to me to be prepared for that eventuality though. Especially since doing so is free!
