Every once in a while a book comes along that speaks to me in such a way that it causes some profound changes in how I conduct my life.
I recently was told about “The Miracle Morning for Real Estate Agents” by Hal Elrod, Michael J. Maher, Michael Reese and Jay Kinder with Honorée Corder. You can get it at Amazon through this link: https://amzn.to/2qcdTOA (If you do I will earn an exceedingly small commission!)
Before I get into the details I want to back up a bit. I started real estate in 1986 in Santa Rosa, California with Merrill Lynch Realty. I didn’t have any roots in that community as my wife and I had moved there a few years before from Riverside, California. I had a very slow start since I hadn’t figured out a way to generate new clients. I basically lucked into my first transaction.
Along the way to that first transaction I questioned myself and my abilities to the point that I spent a weekend in seclusion at Refugio State Beach Campground. During that weekend I did some very deep self assessment of my skills, desires, abilities and perceived limitations.
On my return, I launched myself into a self improvement regimen that served me well for many years. It included listening to inspirational audio programs from Nightengale-Conant, attending seminars, buying and reading books on real estate and studying the business practices of successful real estate agents.
All of this paid off as I was able to transform myself into a successful agent and was tapped for a leadership position within the company after a scant 14 months as an agent!
But then complacency set in and it wasn’t until 1992 when I lost a parent that I turned to self introspection again. This time I folded in the spiritual practices of affirmation and meditation into my daily routine.
This too paid off for me as the transformation allowed me to attract people into my life that once again transformed me. I became a successful branch office manager for some of the biggest name companies in my area and commanded large salaries in the process.
I tell you all of this to lay in the background for why I believe that this book will be another transformational pivot point for me here at the end game of my career.
From reading the paragraphs above you may have figured out that I had taken two diverse paths to success. One more practical and the other more spiritual in nature. “The Miracle Morning for Real Estate Agents” combines the best of both of my previous methods into one practice that produces results…if followed.
Reading this book I can see where I have slipped into mediocrity and complacency in my life. And the book has given me a workable plan to move back into the high performance that I know that I am capable of achieving.
Maybe it will do that for you too! Are you up to the challenge?
