Another quick post this week. Just want to remind you that all the tech in the world will never replace you as the trusted advisor!
Back when I started in real estate in the mid 80’s we didn’t have much in the way of technology, so we had to actually get out and meet people in order to get listings and to make sales. It’s true, we actually HAD to see people face to face!
These days, with so much tech and social media to help us get in touch with prospective clients, it’s very easy to think that all we have to do these days is to become masters of our tech tools.
And that thinking is part of the problem that you mighty be facing in getting new clients.
Let me point out that the ONLY reason to use the new tech tools is to arrange for face to face meetings with people. That’s it. We use social media, digital ads, predictive analytics, you name it, if you think about it, all we can expect from those tools is that they will help us identify people who might want to do a deal with us. BUT, YOU STILL NEED TO ACTUALLY MEET THEM!
So, today I wanted to remind you of a tool that is designed to immediately get you face to face with people who might need your services.
It runs on your phone, both iPhone and Android, is free and is effective. It’s called Meetup. Go to http://www.Meetup.com and sign up. As part of the signup process you can pick a few areas that you are interested in and then when you are signed in, you’ll be given a list of Meetups comprised of people who have the same interest, along with details of the meeting.
I’d suggest going to a few to see how it all works. Then go ahead and create your own Meetup that people can join. Over time you’ll actually be meeting people who share your interests!
