Back in the old days of real estate, keeping a written phone log of our conversations with our clients, inspectors, appraisers, the other agents, title companies, etc was an important part of of our risk management process.
Those of us who have been around for a while still do this with calls we make and receive. Our email systems can keep track of our email correspondence and it is easy enough to move those emails into our document management systems. We can even keep our phone logs in a word processing document and upload them as well.
However, since so much communication is done via text messaging these days, getting those text messages off of our phones has become a bit of a challenge. There are plenty of apps that you can install on your computers that will read the contents of your phone backups and allow you to access the messages, but the process is clunky and the cost is fairly high.
So, I was excited to find this app for my iPhone (Sorry Android users, this is an iPhone only app, but I did find something similar on the Playstore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.luckybunnyllc.stitchit)
The app can be found on AppStore at https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id1208145167 and it costs .99 as a one time purchase.
So, why am I excited about this? Simple, just take a series of screen shots of the text messages that you want to save. If you have a series of messages from one person that you want to save, just keep taking screen shots until you have captured the entire chain.
Then open the app and it will ask you to select the screenshots that you want to stitch together. Select them in then order that they arrived on your phone and then let the app stitch them to gather. Watch this video to see what I am talking about: https://youtu.be/maE0py1QTfo . You can also create scrollable pictures of lengthy conversations. Learn how to do that here: https://youtu.be/W2J9iusS85c
Finally, if you don’t know how to take screen shots on your phone, go here:

You NEED this app. It might save you loads of heartache later.
