It’s a sign of the times that we have all become security conscious these days.
I live in a gated community in the San Francisco Bay Area. It’s an upscale, golf and tennis oriented community and for the past 30 years or so, it has been a very safe place to live.
Recently there have been a rash of burglaries, including one just across the street from my home! Because of that I have been exploring various ways to protect my home. I have installed solar powered exterior lights with motion detectors. I have also installed a Ring Doorbell, and a Ring Solar Powered Camera and flood light.
The Camera and Flood Light installation was a piece of cake. Just locate the unit where you want and screw in several screws and then do the same with its included solar panel. Aside from the occasional false alarm when a bird flies by, it works well. It uses a motion detector and WiFi connection to send an alert to my phone in addition to turning on the flood lights.
The Ring doorbell…well not so much. I’m about to install my second replacement doorbell unit. Two of them have failed in the few short months that I have had them in service. The installation involves wires, disassembly of the chime unit in the house and a pretty robust WiFi signal..
So, when I ran across the Remo+ DoorCam, I got pretty excited. The concept is pure genius! The unit is fully self contained, no wires, no screws, no holes in the wall. Just turn it on, connect to your WiFi and hang it over the door.
This one is a no brainer, When it detects motion, you get an alert on your phone. You can then see who is at your door and even conduct a two way conversation through the built in speakers and microphone.
The manufacturer claims a 1 year battery life, so it’s pretty much set and forget!
I think that this would make a really cool closing gift for your buyer clients! It certainly beats pretty much anything else I have seen!
And it will provide peace of mind at your own home too.
