As I’ve been talking with agents over the past few months, I’ve discovered that many agents are frustrated with staying organized with the available tools on their phones.
This has made me remember back to the days of paper planners.
Almost every agent had a ring binder with either Day Timer or Franklin Covey’s daily planner pages.
Some even had their planners in zipper-bound cases as they often saved post-it notes, business cards, and receipts with their planners.
So, why did we move away from paper planners? The move started with smartphones, allowing agents to keep track of their calendars, contacts, email, and more through apps. This appealed to many of us, so we gradually abandoned our paper planners.
This move came with a high price, though. If you weren’t particularly tech-savvy, you found it cumbersome to use as you had to search through multiple apps to find what you were looking to use.
The paper planners had a big advantage here: they always had a “phone book” section with daily, weekly, and monthly planner pages to see your schedule at a glance.
Some more advanced real estate specific planners allowed you to track goals, escrows, listings, marketing, etc.
One big disadvantage is that if the planner isn’t with you, or you lose or misplace it, you will be in a dilemma!
Whether you utilize a basic calendar on Evernote or delve into more intricate systems, your real estate agent planner’s effectiveness hinges on your commitment. Prioritize the planner to monitor marketing initiatives, Facebook updates, client consultations, contact data, and property listing specifics.
I’ve located a few planners you might want to check out to see if a paper planner would make sense in your business.
There are two long-time paper planners that you should take a look at to see if they fit your needs. Each has multiple sizes, formats, and customizable insert pages.
