This is the second in a series of five posts on social media marketing for agents.
Social Media is Worth the Time
Social media is a very important marketing tool for businesses today. Everywhere you go, people are on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest and any other social network that connects people with others.
Since agents have limited resources it is up to you, the agent, to find ways and to enhance your presence. With Facebook alone having more than a billion users, you have to know that you need to jump into the massive social media market.
Setting up social media profiles and campaigns can be a little confusing and somewhat time-consuming; but it cannot be ignored.
To get started off on the right foot, take a really close look at what type of people you want to target online and then join the social media sites that can put you in touch with them. This is a key concept and cannot be ignored!
Social Media is not a “set-and-forget” type of marketing channel. It will require that you set aside some time to update fresh content and interact with your contacts and customers in order to be effective.
After identifying your target group, you need to plan out exactly what type of content you will be using to reach them. This content must be valuable, engaging, interesting, and informative in order to hold their attention. This is another key concept!
So, building a social media following is just half the battle. The true value is determined by what you do with them; and the possibilities are endless.
Revolutionizing real estate using social media
Years ago, we all depended on newspapers, billboards, direct mail and to a lesser extent, radio and TV for advertisements. That has long since changed with the introduction of various digital online advancements such as social media networks. These are simply websites that were created to help people connect with their friends, family, peers, and other professionals.
Social media has also been responsible for many small businesses, as well as multibillion corporations, to turn their backs on the world of traditional advertising. As an agent, you already know that the best way to stay in business is by keeping in touch with past clients, your existing clients, as well as generating new customers. The trick is to do so in a cost effective way that produces results.
Social media is the perfect way to accomplish those goals without breaking the bank. Not only has it revolutionized the way agents conduct certain activities, it has also changed the lifestyles of many consumers across the world.
People are now spending more time on social media sites than any other type of website online. Not only that, but they are staying connected with agents that they like and want to do business with.
Therefore, it’s time to take your business to your target audience. By consistently communicating with your customers and followers, you will ultimately increase sales and profits.
Next week I’ll explore some more features of social media marketing for agents.
