Pocket size your presentations

Posted by Jerry Kidd under: Product Reviews .

As I stated last week, I am in Maui enjoying a wonderful vacation.  I have had plenty of time to catch up on my reading, both for pleasure and for business.  In doing so, I have had the great good fortune to read about two products that I wish I had with me on this trip and I’d like to tell you about them.

3M MPRO Mini Projector

The first one is not available yet, but will be showing up soon in a variety of different portable products.  The 3M Company has developed an extremely small projector that they say will be built into cell phones, portable music players, laptops and other portable devices.  Depending on lighting conditions, it will project an image from 5” diagonal up to 50” diagonal.  Imagine showing your property tours or doing a listing presentation on the wall of your client’s home.  Or even turning that elevator pitch into a real audio/video presentation right in the elevator.  Watch the video to learn more.

REDFLY Mobile Companion

The second product is available now.  In fact, until October 31, 2008, it’s at half price as the company is trying to “seed” the market.  This product is a portable keyboard AND screen combination for select Windows SmartPhones.  It will connect to your SmartPhone via your phone’s USB cable or via Bluetooth.  The device is called the REDFLY and although it does not contain a processor, hard drive or memory, by connecting your phone to it, you gain laptop like functionality over your phone. This is not available for all SmartPhones, so be sure to visit their website to see if your phone is supported.  Here is the link to the supported phones page.

Here’s the scenario, you take your presentation, convert it to PDF and email it to yourself.  Then you download the PDF file to your phone.  You take your phone, the REDFLY and the pocket projector out to the client’s home or office.  Take everything out of your purse or portfolio, connect the phone to the REDFLY, connect the projector to the REDFLY and give your presentation.  It’s all instant on, no laptop to boot up, no power cords to connect, just pure presentation!

At the beginning of this post, I mentioned that I wish that I had both of these with me on this trip.  Since I will be doing an Intro to ePro workshop at the Maui Association of Realtors®  while I am here, I lugged along a laptop computer…it sure would have been nice to have just brought a REDFLY….
