Five Cool Things you didn’t know that your email could do!

Posted by Jerry Kidd under: Cool Freebies .

It’s not your father’s email anymore. Look at what your email can do for you now!

pdf@koolwire.com – Do you need to convert a document to a PDF format and don’t have the necessary software? Just send the document as an attachment to this address and it will send you the document back as a PDF file.

doc@koolwire.com – Maybe you need to convert a PDF document into a text file. Just send the document as an attachment to this address and it will come back as a plain text file.

wsmith@wordsmith.org – Need a quick definition of a word? Send a blank email to this address with the following in the subject line: define myword where myword is the word that you want defined.

www.slideshare.net – This one requires that you create an account (free) with them. They will give you a unique email address that you can send an email to so that you can share your uploads. Then you can upload your PowerPoint or PDF files and share them simply by emailing them from your email client or by visiting the web page. Think of this a YouTube for PowerPoint and PDF files – once they are uploaded they can be shared with anyone. The files that you upload are converted into a web based show,

www@web2mail.com – Ever wished that you had a view of your web site?  Or any other web site?  Simply send the URL in the subject line and they will send you back an email containing a view of the website.  (like this – www.realtytechbytes.com) This is useful if you want to send an email to a client showing them what a web site looks like.

Why not take a few minutes and put these email addresses into your address book so that they are available when you need them? And keep in mind that sometimes it takes a bit of time to get a response. If you’ve waited for while and still haven’t “heard” back…check your Spam filter. An over eager Spam filter may have trapped the response.
